What is HomHero

HomHero (HH) is the multi-functional booking management system, we, Phillip Island Holiday Homes (PIHH), use to record and manage every booking, irrespective of the platform the guest booked on, i.e., directly, Airbnb, Booking.com etc.

About Owner Contacts, Access, Correspondence and Notifications

Contact Types: HomHero allows one primary contact along with the facility to add additional contacts (Secondary) to your account. Only the primary contact can make changes to the contact information and bank details.

Access :  The primary contact is assigned to our Owners Portal and can login using their email address and a unique PIN. Additional contacts on the account cannot login using their own email address (but can use the Primary contact's email address as a login name to access it).

Notifications/Correspondence: All contacts on your account will receive booking notifications, correspondence (inc SMS messages) from our team.

Statements/Invoices: By default the primary contact will receive statements and invoices. You do however have the option to enable secondary contacts to also receive these. Please talk to us if you require this.

Logging In

  1. Open your internet browser and type: owners.homhero.com.au
  1. We will have sent to you an email, titled ‘Owner portal instructions’, which contains the following log in details:

Email address: <your email address>

Pin Code: <your pin code>

Upon logging in, you will be taken to the ‘Home’ page (fig. 1), which will give you all your ‘Menu’ options.

Live Availability

Real time calendar and list of all (guest and owner) future bookings at the time of opening the app. If the app has been open for more than a couple of minutes, you will need to reload the app.

Your Bookings

A list of every booking you have placed – future, present and past  in newest date order.

Guest Bookings

A list of guest bookings. The default display lists ‘Forward (future) Bookings’ only, but by clicking on the drop- down box, in the Search Type field, you can change the list to ‘Past Bookings’. You cannot view both types in one list.

Make a Booking

The place to book dates for yourself.
  1. The calendar is a visual aid, to help you when selecting dates. Dates in green are available, dates in ‘salmon pink’, are not available.
  1. Below the calendar is where you enter the Arrival and Departure dates and any other relevant details pertaining to the booking.
  1. HH automatically defaults to ‘Adults 2’. You can change that number if you wish and add Children, the only time this would be relevant though, is if you want the cleaner to make up the beds and leave out the appropriate number of bath towels.
  1. Linen, as per the last point, you can also put specific linen requirements in the Comments field, along with other remarks, such as nature of your visit i.e., “to tidy up the garden”, “painting the house”, “installing a new air conditioner” etc. which is useful information for us.
  1. Booking for family and friends - if family or friends will be staying, but not you, you can choose Owner Guest from the dropdown box.


IMPORTANT – Every owner booking will default to ‘Requires Clean’, which means your cleaner will clean the home after your stay. You can choose to opt out of this option and clean the home yourself, but you will need to specify this for every booking. If you are uncertain, please contact the office.  

To ensure you’re not coming to a home that hasn’t yet been cleaned, Owners are not able to make last-minute bookings within 48h of checking in. Please contact the office to see if we can accommodate a last-minute booking.

Statement History

Arguably the most important screen you will want to see. Here you can view your income, expenses, and revenue. At the top of the page is a graph for a quick visual aid and a summary list below. Next to each item on the summary list, is a download button, (fig.2).

This is where you can download a detailed monthly Statement / Tax Invoice, which contains a detailed statement in PDF format.

Correspondence History
With every booking (guest or owner) and/or change, you will receive correspondence (via email), summarising the latest booking details. Unlike the Guest Booking screen, which will only list the current status of a booking, this screen documents all changes. It is essentially an audit trail of all updates and amendments, made in HH.

Send Message (aka Contact Management)

Another platform, where you can send a message to our office. During office hours – 09:00 to 17:00, Monday to Sunday, we will endeavour to respond to any correspondence, by the close of business that day, depending on the complexity of your request and/or the time it is received (i.e., 09:05 v. 16:45). For urgent matters, we therefore urge you to call us on (03) 9443 7538.

Report Maintenance

Here you can notify or report any maintenance issues or damaged or missing property, with the function of including photos of said issue. You can also use this function to report lost property left by a guest.

Get latest updates

This will reload the app, giving you the latest bookings and updates. Essential if you have had the app open for more than a couple of minutes.

Logout

Once you have finished, it is advisable that you Logout of the app, as new bookings and updates will not display.

Using on Mobile or Tablet Device

On your smart phone, enter this URL in a web browser - owner.homhero.com.au

Click Sign in 

Select the icon in bottom right hand side of the screen (a box with an arrow pointing up) and scroll down to Add to Home Screen, and Select Add in the top right hand corner. This is now saved on your phone with an icon entitled "HomMaintenance" and appears as an App. Please have a look through the different Menu options (accessed via the three horizontal lines on the top left of the screen). The Menu and functionality are the same as the desktop/laptop view.

Statement / Tax Invoice

Every month (approx. around the 15th), you (the owner), will receive a Statement /Tax Invoice, via email and HomHero Owner Portal.

To access your statements, simply go to Statement History and click on the download icon.
